Terms of use

Effective date: 19 October 2026

These terms are offered by bayeslearner LLC, a Michigan limited liability company (“we”, “us”). They cover Screenbay and the website at bayeslearner.com. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use them.

Screenbay is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), with bayeslearner LLC as the Application Provider. The Standard EULA governs your license to the app, including its own warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability and governing law. Where this page and the Standard EULA differ about the app, the Standard EULA wins. The rest of this page explains how those terms apply to what Screenbay does and covers this website.

Screenbay lets you view and control a Mac over a network. You are responsible for:

  • Using Screenbay only with computers you own or are authorized to control.
  • The Mac’s Screen Sharing settings, its user accounts and passwords, and who else may connect to it.
  • The network between your iPad and the Mac, including any private network or VPN you set up, and keeping the Mac’s Screen Sharing off the open internet.
  • Everything done on the Mac during a session, including input sent by mistake.
  • Keeping your own backups. A remote session can close apps, lose unsaved work or leave the Mac in an unexpected state.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Screenbay and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranty of any kind. We disclaim all warranties and conditions, express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Screenbay or this website will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that they will work with every Mac, iPad, operating system version or network, or that defects will be corrected.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, bayeslearner LLC and its members, managers and contractors are not liable for any incidental, special, indirect, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, business or goodwill, business interruption, damage to computers or devices, or the cost of substitute products, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Screenbay or this website. This applies whatever the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence or otherwise), even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for all claims relating to Screenbay or this website is limited to the amount you paid for Screenbay, or US$50 if that is more. For the app, the Standard EULA’s limit applies.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or certain liability to be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for statutory consumer rights. Where that is the case, those exclusions and limits apply to you only as far as the law allows, and nothing on this page takes away rights you have under law that cannot be waived.

The website’s content is for general information. It may change at any time and may contain errors. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the Standard EULA or the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
